5 Things to Do in Milan This Weekend From October 16 to 18

By mid-October, the temptation to spend the weekend on the sofa is starting to make itself felt. Milan's weather seems to want to negotiate: Saturday still grants us mild temperatures, while Sunday might bring rain to give us an excuse to stay home. But we can wait a little longer before inaugurating the blanket season. So here it is, as every week, the nss edicola selection of five things to do in Milan this weekend.

To Eat – Berberè

Blue crab is coming to pizza too. From 13 October, Berberè is offering a new recipe created in collaboration with Chiara Pavan, chef at Venissa on the island of Mazzorbo. On the house dough, you'll find vodka sauce, sautéed blue crab, buffalo mozzarella, lovage oil, chives and parsley. A collaboration that brings to the pizzeria an ingredient already central to the chef's research into invasive species in the lagoon. You'll find it for around two months at all the pizzeria's locations, but for this weekend, our Milan stop is the Isola branch.

To Chill – Owen

Bread, wine, together: Owen's programme is already summed up in their bio. Open from 13 October on Ripa di Porta Ticinese, the new address on the Navigli puts bread, wine and small rituals to share at its heart. A good excuse to get together over a glass and let the afternoon take its course. If you'd like to take the opportunity to meet your neighbours at the table too, the opening party is on Saturday the 17th, from 6pm with a DJ set.

To Discover – Aki Sasamoto @ Pirelli HangarBicocca

How much can the objects we use every day tell us about ourselves? This is a good starting point for visiting "XYZ", the first institutional solo exhibition in Europe by Aki Sasamoto, curated by Roberta Tenconi with Tatiana Palenzona. At Pirelli HangarBicocca, the Japanese artist brings together over twenty years of research spanning sculpture, installation, video and performance, exploring the relationship between body, space and habits. The exhibition is free to visit from 10:30am to 8:30pm.

To Shop – Dieci10 Studio

This weekend, Dieci10 Studio, the brand founded by Emilia Sofri in 2024, arrives at Est Bar in Via Tortona with a pop-up dedicated to the AW26 collection "Creaking Shells." The starting point is the shell: something that protects, but that you might also want to break free from. Alongside the new collection you'll also find All Day Long Beachwear. From Friday to Sunday, the doors are open from 11am to 7pm.

To Party – Cortile Napoletano

Sunday the 18th, from 11am to 2pm, Kimbo and nss edicola bring 'A primma cosa to Combo — a coffee party with Lost Boys: music, coffee and a reason to get out of bed. The event closes out Cortile Napoletano, the project that from 16 to 18 October transforms Combo's courtyard into a meeting space inspired by Naples. Over the weekend there are also photographs by Oreste Pipolo, a film club with ArteSettima and a painting workshop using coffee. It all starts with an espresso — the music selection takes care of the rest.
