For Vittoria Russo, the story of RussoCapri cannot be separated from that of the island she has always called home. It all began with her grandfather. After closing the Eden Bar, Luigi Russo decided to reinvent himself and embark on a completely new venture, entering an entirely different industry and laying the foundations for what would eventually become RussoCapri.

"My grandfather belonged to another era. He was born in 1901, and because of our age difference I never had the chance to know him personally. He passed away while my father was still very young, leaving him with an enormous responsibility. Despite his age, my father embraced that legacy with courage, determination and a vision that would forever change our family's future." The beginning of RussoCapri tells the story of a business rooted in responsibility and in the ability to recognise opportunities that others had yet to see.

When her father Roberto Russo took over the business, Via Camerelle looked very different from the way we know it today. Before becoming one of the world's most renowned luxury shopping streets, it was lined mainly with artisan workshops, souvenir shops and traditional businesses. Roberto Russo, however, was able to envision a different Capri, one capable of establishing itself on the international luxury scene. It was through this drive for change, together with genuine care and passion for his work, that RussoCapri came to life, becoming a business that successfully wove its own journey together with those of some of the leading names in Italian and international fashion.

Vittoria Russo explains that her father was among the first to believe in this vision, building relationships over the years with some of the world's leading fashion houses, including Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, Loro Piana and many others. Through patience, credibility and hard work, he helped transform Via Camerelle, accompanying its evolution until it became one of the world's most prestigious luxury shopping destinations. Yet living and working in Capri meant far more than building a successful business. It gave Vittoria's father the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and turn many of those encounters into genuine friendships.

"RussoCapri's boutiques have always been a place where people come together, where relationships with clients often went far beyond a simple purchase. Even today, many of those people return every summer, not only to discover the latest collections, but also to reconnect with a familiar face, share dinner and catch up as though no time had passed." This is one of the aspects that makes Vittoria most proud of her family's story: knowing that RussoCapri has built not only a loyal clientele, but sincere relationships that have endured for decades.

Looking to the future, Vittoria Russo hopes to play her part in preserving and celebrating this extraordinary place, respecting its history while embracing what lies ahead with confidence. "Today I walk into the company fully aware that I am only one chapter in a story that is far greater than myself. A story built on sacrifice, vision, relationships and people who believed in a project when it was still only an idea. My own story, however, has yet to be written."
