Confine Milano is Italy's best pizzeria according to 50 Top Pizza 50 Top Pizza World 2026 ranks the 100 best pizzerias in the world

Milan continues to reshape its culinary identity, this time through one of the most iconic symbols of Italian cuisine: pizza. According to 50 Top Pizza Italia 2026, this year's guide featuring 472 venues, the best pizzeria in Italy is Confine, the Milan-based project by Francesco Capece and Mario Ventura. The recognition confirms the city's growing status as a leading destination for artisan pizza.

"Italy remains the heart of the global quality pizza movement," explain the guide's curators Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere, highlighting how the sector is undergoing a period of profound transformation thanks to new concepts, fresh ideas, and above all a new generation of pizza makers. Within this landscape, Milan has made some of the most significant strides in recent years, developing an extraordinarily diverse pizza scene that embraces every major style.

Sharing second place with Confine are I Masanielli, led by Francesco Martucci in Caserta, and Seu Pizza Illuminati, founded by Pier Daniele Seu and Valeria Zuppardo in Rome. Palazzo Petrucci Pizzeria in Naples ranks third, followed by I Tigli by Simone Padoan and 50 Kalò by Ciro Salvo. Despite Milan taking the top spot, Campania remains the region with the highest number of entries in the guide, with 103 pizzerias, ahead of Lazio (39) and Puglia (38). Naples also retains its title as Italy's pizza capital, boasting 31 pizzerias in the rankings.

This year's edition was once again supported by a network of companies representing some of the finest names in Italy's food and hospitality supply chain. Partners include Pastificio Di Martino, Ferrarelle, Latteria Sorrentina, Oleificio Zucchi, Solania, Salumificio F.lli Coati, Sei Bellissimi, Robo 1938, Latteria San Salvatore, Goeldlin, and Fedegroup, spanning ingredients, food production, hospitality, and restaurant services. The top 30 pizzerias in the ranking automatically qualify for 50 Top Pizza World 2026, the guide to the 100 best pizzerias in the world, which will be unveiled on September 15 at the Teatro Mercadante in Naples.
