nss edicola and Kimbo bring Neapolitan glimpses to Milan with "Cortile Napoletano" From October 16 to 18, Combo Milano hosts three days dedicated to Neapolitan culture through photography, cinema, art and coffee
In Naples, coffee is never just a break — it's a way of being together. This is the idea behind Cortile Napoletano, the project by nss edicola and Kimbo® that from October 16 to 18 will bring a small piece of Naples to the heart of Milan. For three days, the courtyard of Combo Milano will be transformed into a space inspired by everyday Neapolitan life, complete with wicker baskets, hanging laundry, footballs and shared tables. A setting that draws on some of the most recognisable elements of Neapolitan neighbourhood life, where the courtyard has historically served as an extension of the home — a space where the private and public spheres inevitably come together. Here, visitors can stop for a coffee, play with Neapolitan cards, or draw a question from the Relational Cards, a deck designed to spark conversation even between complete strangers.
Three days of Neapolitan culture in Milan
Accompanying the activation will be a photography exhibition dedicated to Oreste Pipolo, which through a selection of images from the series Napoli Velata will offer a glimpse into the city, its inhabitants, and the relationships that define their daily lives. The exhibition will be open throughout the weekend, while the cultural programme will kick off on Friday, October 16 with (Adda passà) a nuttata, a film screening organised together with ArteSettima. At 7:30 PM, Paolo Sorrentino's The Hand of God will be screened, followed by a conversation about the film and the cinematic representation of Naples.
Saturday, October 17 will be the turn of La Controra, a painting workshop with Francesco Pipitone that takes the relationship between Caravaggio and Naples as its starting point to explore a distinctive technique: using coffee as a pigment. From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, participants will be able to experiment with different concentrations, shades and consistencies, turning one of the most beloved drinks in Naples into an artistic medium.
Closing out the weekend, on Sunday, October 18, will be 'A primma cosa, a coffee party with Lost Boys that from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM will bring daytime clubbing culture to the Combo courtyard. Music, coffee and socialising for an event that takes one of the most common Sunday morning rituals and turns it into an opportunity to connect.
