nss edicola presents "The Neapolitan Tales"

Piazza San Pasquale, Napoli

Naples, October 30, 2025 – On the occasion of J’Adore Napoli 2500, a cultural program created to celebrate the 2500th anniversary of the city of Naples, nss edicola presents the first volume of “The Neapolitan Tales – Napoli Sospesa”, the new editorial project by photographer Ciro Pipoli, which tells through images and words the deep and enduring bond between Naples and Buenos Aires.
Sister cities, united by a shared history of departures and returns, of affection and memory, Naples and Buenos Aires are portrayed here as two poles of the same soul — an emotional geography that crosses the ocean and continues to beat vibrantly. As Pipoli explains: “‘Napoli Sospesa’ was born from the desire to tell the most human side of migration — the nostalgia, but also the hope. It’s a story of identity that endures, of families who built invisible bridges between continents, of a people who have carried Naples with them wherever they went”.
The volume is much more than a photography book: it is a collective narrative that intertwines archival images, testimonies, portraits, and voices. Pipoli’s photographs capture the everyday life of the Neapolitan community in Argentina, where gestures, faces, and family stories keep alive the cultural and emotional heritage of Naples.
The book concludes with an extended tribute to Diego Armando Maradona and the Club Napoli of Buenos Aires. In this section, Pipoli explores Maradona’s figure not only as a football legend, but as a universal symbol of belonging, redemption, and unity. The images shot at the Bombonera stadium reveal the passion that binds the two cities into a single voice — a collective chant that transcends oceans and generations.
Maradona becomes the thread that ties everything together: the memory of those who left, the pride of those who stayed, and the hope of those who still believe that football, like life itself, can be a language of love and shared identity.
“The Neapolitan Tales – Napoli Sospesa” is, ultimately, a visual and emotional journey, an act of love toward two cities that continue to recognize themselves in the same heartbeat.
